13.11.24 - Antstream bietet für seinen Retrospiele-Service Antstream Arcade (PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, PC, Mobile) jetzt auch Net Yaroze Spiele der PlayStation 1 an. Fünf Indie-Spiele sind verfügbar: Play Adventure, Bouncer 2, Pushy IIB, Time Slip und Arena.
Net Yaroze ist ein Entwicklungskit für die PlayStation 1. Es war eine Werbeaktion von Sony für Hobby-Programmierer, die im Juni 1996 in Japan und 1997 in anderen Ländern auf den Markt kam. Das Net Yaroze-Paket, das vom PlayStation-Erfinder Ken Kutaragi entwickelt wurde und etwa USD 750 kostete, enthielt eine spezielle, schwarz gefärbte Debugging-PlayStation-Einheit, ein serielles Kabel zum Anschluss der Konsole an einen PC und eine CD mit PlayStation-Entwicklungstools.

Net Yaroze was a groundbreaking initiative that brought game development into the homes of passionate creators, allowing them to build PlayStation games with limited dev tools. Harking back to the bedroom coder era, it fostered a community that produced some incredible and beloved indie titles. Many of these titles have been considered lost to time. Now, in full collaboration with these indie pioneers on November 12th, 2024, Antstream Arcade will be launching a selection of these classics to the streaming platform, giving them new life and helping them to find a whole new generation of fans. Starting with Adventure, Bouncer 2, Pushy IIB, Time Slip, and Arena—with even more titles launching in the future, Antstream Arcade is proud to be part of preserving the Net Yaroze legacy.
From the arcade, to Mega Drive, C64, Amiga, up to PS1, we have it all and everything in between. With global leaderboards and unique challenges, there are even more ways for you to play your favourite retro games!
