Revenge of the Savage Planet ist ein Third-Person-Online-Koop-Abenteuer, in dem die Spieler nach einem 80-jährigen Kryoschlaf auf einem fremden Planeten gestrandet sind. Die Weltraumkolonisierung wurde als zu kostspielig und herausfordernd eingestuft, wodurch Ihre Mission abgebrochen und sie überflüssig gemacht wurden. Ohne Unterstützung und nur mit ihrem Verstand und den Ressourcen des Planeten ausgestattet, müssen sie diesen erforschen, neue Ausrüstung herstellen und einen Weg nach Hause finden.
